Powys Carriage Driving Group

I am 51 years old and run Rockwood Riding Centre in Caerphilly. I have been driving for 21/2 years and am loving it. Mainly doing the indoor events so far but have had a little go at a couple of outdoor events and trec, rally drives  etc. The pony I drive I bought in Oct 2010 not knowing what I would actually do with her or even how to put the harness on! Another slight setback was when we found out that she was in foal so she had to have a break from driving. While she was on maternity leave I drove one of the riding school ponies who was very good but I had an accident that was totally my fault due to my inexperience and was off work for 4 months. We came through that a bit wiser (hopefully) and went on and did a winter series while lady was off. In june last year I brought Lady back into work and completed 2 winter series at 2 areas and we qualified for the National Championships at Keysoe! looking forward to the summer rally drives now and next winters indoor series again. Have almost convinced the other half to have a go too. I still have a lot to learn!

I live with my Wife Tricia in Presteigne we have owned horses for over forty years, now enjoying driving Troy / Pantyfid Oscar our 4 year old Welsh section C a willing little chap and very happy doing his job both in the show ring and at home driving through Presteigne and local areas.

Married to Chris who is my hero as he agreed to dig up our garden and put in a stable & paddock instead.  Now I have Toby who is a cob X Shire living in the garden, which is great as if I have an MS relapse I can still look after him.  I also have 11 grandchildren so have plenty to keep me busy
