Fantastic competition today! Young Emily Curnock, novice junior was a top scorer in all three phases taking the novice dressage, the best cones score - only one penalty - and really fast obstacles to win the Novice class and gain the second best score of the day. Emily Ham and Jonathan Rees were neck and neck in the open classes with 18.5 and best dressage, 5 time penalties for Emily in cones, one time penalty but a ball down for Jonathan and both really fast in the obstacles - Emily Ham one second faster and no balls down so clinching the Best Score of the Day and sadly Jonathan had two balls to add. These three drivers look red hot contenders for the Indoor championships at Keysoe!
Angharad Morris did a great job driving Averinna Snow’s grey pair as singles taking the Intermediate Pony class for the second time this season ....if she completes at the March event she should also get to the finals from our area. Young Jack Kedward is improving all the time in dressage and was speedy in the obstacles, although his pony lost concentration in the cones giving mum Vicky and Jo Jo the chance to overtake them, but Jack & Howell proved too fast and careful - yet again edging ahead overall. Jack looks a good bet for a ticket to the Finals which will be a first for the family. Hammy Ham, at his fourth time in the driver’s seat, just did cones at the event but kept up his amazing newcomer’s record of another clear round with Ferrari Pony Mr J.
Thanks to everyone for helping and great camaraderie, also Peter Sidebottom for judging precision and Anthea Birch paces. Janice Sidebottom and Angharad’s dad were great support as stewards.
