WELL DONE to all who came to the indoor affiliated event today! We were down on numbers but the level of competition was awesome with really good calm accurate dressage tests, clear cones rounds and fast accurate obstacles. Jonathan Gwyn Rees kept Bob super chilled and responsive in spite of the gusty wind rattling the roof! A really well deserved Best Score of the Day for him with Best Open Dressage on just 15 pens ! Emily Ham chased him close with a 16.5 dressage, identical cones ( 3 time pens) and 1 penalty more in the obstacles. Emily Curnock was hot in pursuit with Best Novice Dressage on 18.5 and only 2 cones pens and speedy obstacles. Victoria Kedward and Jack Kedward played nip and tuck Vicky with 28 for dressage with Jack on 29.5 then Jack 6 seconds under time in cones and Vicky 8. So close on all but Obstacle 2 where Howell got a little strong abd lost some timegiving Vicky the edge but amazing driving for a 12 year old by Jack ! Andrea and Nigel Craddock were wonderful stewards and Nigel got to backstep Jonathan for dressage and cones and Vicky for obstacles. A BIG thank you too to Anthea Birch and Rhian Ralph for dressage judging and writing. Sorry you were so poorly John Shutt we missed you and Nikki and you missed seeing our mystery newcomer in action ! All will be revealed!!! Suffice to say I was extremely proud of every'one's driving and efficiency in helping with equipment and great comraderie!!
The newcomer was Hammy Ham who drove Emily's Mr J with her backstepping for all three phases and thoroughly emjoyed his first ever event. He got more confident as the day went on and picked up good speed in obstacle 3 and 4. to finish with a huge grin ! He says he enjoyed it and will certainly do it again !
