INDOOR TRIAL REPORT 25th October 2015

Posted by Ann Ham on October 27, 2015 at 3:00 AM

There was a fantastic entry of 14 for the event with two teams and three pairs as well as single horses and ponies.Competition was friendly but fierce in all three phases. Winner of the Novice dressage on 19.5 pens was Nikki Shutt with her Exmoor pony, Irvine and the best Open test was driven by Emily Ham with her Section C Mr J on 18.5 pens. Several people made the time on the cones but had a ball down , others went clear but were too slow or fast, by the time for obstacles there were very close placings. ...
Obstacle times were fast ! Obstacle one was driven in just 18 seconds by Open drivers Emily Ham and Jonathan Rees who both shaved off another second when it was driven as obstacle 3 ! They were also fastest in Obstacles 2 and 4 both getting 21 penalties in Obstacle 2 and Emily getting 21 again in 4 while Jonathan drove in 20 seconds with his big horse but had a ball down. Emily Curnock drove very fast times in Novice Pony and Julie Wedgebury's shetland team just flew! But then they have been many times Nationall Indoor Champions so are the best small team indoors! It was a privilege to watch Julie's skill driving the ponies as she threaded them through the course at speed with not even one knockdown !
Winners were : Open Pony Emily Ham , also Best Score of the Day. Open Horse Jonathan Rees, Novice Pony Emily Curnock ( also Best Junior), Pairs Averinna Snow, Teams Julie Wedgebury.
Two drivers, competing at Llywnon for the first time did the short class of dressage and cones, which was won by Judi Reeve with her mini shetland pair with Rhian Ralph second driving a single pony to a two wheeler.
The full results are published in the previous post.
It was a lovely sunny day and we welcomed several spectators as well as our hard working dressage judge and stewards. The organisers would like to thank all who came for making it a great day out and for helping to move equipment and leave the premises tidy.  We hope to see you again !!
