Powys Carriage Driving Group are offering a dressage workshop – led by James Rooney on Sunday May 3rd at Usk. It will be held in the large indoor school where there is plenty of room for a standard indoor driving 50mx20m arena and for those attending to sit comfortably inside in the dry!

The format will be that James will explain what is looked for regarding paces and precision and using the 2014-2015 driven indoor test will work with a number of driven turnouts who have been using the test all winter and are performing at different levels with different types of horse / pony. It will be structured so that those keen on dressage develop their skills to assess the equine’s paces and driver’s accuracy! Riders, drivers and dressage judges will all benefit from this workshop which is heavily subsidised by the club.

James Rooney is a dressage rider, based in Abinger, Surrey. As well as competing internationally in both dressage and 3* Eventing, James coaches from Pony Club up to Grand Prix dressage and 4* eventing. He is a successful driving trials competitor who now also coaches carriage drivers and is currently running monthly dressage training clinics at Bennington Carriage Driving Academy in Newark, Notts. James regularly judges at British Carriagedriving’s national events and leads the training panel and oversees matters concerned with driven dressage for the national BC committee.

The day is expected to run from 10.30 am to 5.30pm

Please bring a packed lunch , pen and notebook and a chair!

Cost: for attending workshop on foot PCDG Club members £15 each

Non club members £25
