The indoor event on 6th November was very exciting with fourteen drivers taking part. There was hard fought competition In the Open classes with unbelievably close finishing scores!!Emily driving Jacqui Bevan’s coloured pony Jack finished with 125.5 penalties and on this occasion Gwyn won Open Horse with 125.6 pens just another one tenth of a second ahead of Jonathan Rees on 125.7 !!.
Winner of the Novice Pony with the best dressage and cones scores of the day was rising star Rachel Thomas aged only 9. Rachel got a very good final score breaking the 200 pen barrier with 161 overall. Earning several 10s for paces and also 9s in her dressage she achieved 82.5% so only 17.5 pens ! This with her veteran Shetland Ted who is at least 27 years old ! Rachel was very accurate and drove Ted to show off lovely paces with a correct and supple way of going . Her cones score was just 4 time penalties. Jacqui driving her Jack smoothly on his debut in his four wheeler was second., very capably backstepped by husband Andrew.
In Novice horse Sue, winner of the combined novice class last time , put up a good fight – having had just two hours sleep due to working late she was exhausted but still spirited and as always determined to enjoy the occasion . Peter Sidebottom won the class with his coloured horse giving Sue a challenge to rise to for the next event
Club class was won in style by Vicky Kedward with pony Howell – at his first driving event with Pat Dutson second with her little grey pony, just returned from is loan home. Newcomer Leanna was triumphant on this occasion from Liz James in the Newcomers Class and Liz Powell was in a class of her own with Samson opting to do just the dressage and cones phases.
Fun long reining the Little and Large Challenge saw Becca taking Toby pip Rachel and Ted .
The next event is 4th December with a festive theme .... Christmas food and decorations , fancy dress by all !who want to have festive fun ! Dressage before 1pm , cones and obstacles after 1pm.
AS well as drivers , spectators and helpers are ALWAYS welcome .
