.Twenty members enjoyed a three course dinner on 20th April at the White House. It was lovely to see so many there and five under 18s happily joining in . At this social occasion young Jack Kedward gave out the fabulous Championship rosettes generously sponsored by Gurnos Performance Ponies for the best performing drivers of the winter series. Well done to our four club competitors at the National Championships at Keysoe . Gwyn Rees was 10th in Veterans , Jonathan Rees 10th in Open Horse , Peter Sidebottom was 5th in Novice Pony and Emily Ham was 4th in Open Pony . Emily also reached the final round on the Arena Challenge evening drive off of the best drivers of the 18 indoor regions. Great results !!!

Powys Carriage Driving Group are pleased to have put Mid Wales well and truly on the map. As a result of becoming affiliated to the Indoor Horse Driving Trials UK and running a very successful winter series of monthly competitions the Powys region is now recognised as a driving force in the indoor league.

The latest indoor event on February 19th at Llwynon Saddlery was well supported , although a few regular competitors were unable to drive on this occasion. The club welcomed two new turnouts each with ponies recently broken to harness. These enjoyed the opportunity of competing in the combined dressage and cones phases . congratulations to John Hunt with Troy and Rhian Ralph driving Anthea Birch’s Section B pony Bertie. CONGRATULATIONS to Extra Young Junior Driver Rachel Thomas who has been invited to the awards ceremony for Sports Personality of the Year ( under 12) at the Theatr Brycheniog on March 23rd. This is organised by the Powys Sports Development Officer and the club is extremely proud of Rachel's achievement in being asked to the presentation Awards.
